Ganesh Hegde: Farah Khan is NOT the top choreographer

Mr.G ( Ganesh Hegde )

Ganesh had accused Farah of spreading negative stories about him being thrown out of a dance reality show, and Farah too had retorted in the media recommending a psychiatrist to Ganesh.

Ganesh feels that Farah has been misusing the power of press as she has many friends in the media. “I just want to say that please don’t run down people who are working hard. You may have the power of media but don’t misuse it. The fact is that somebody who dances well can choreograph a good song as well. Whereas somebody who depends upon their assistants and merely knows how to place the camera and do direction, that person cannot call herself the number one choreographer in the industry,” says Ganesh.

“Even stalwarts like Saroj Khan, Kamal Master, P L Raj, Prabhudeva..have never called themselves as the number one choreographer. Just by getting awards one doesn’t become number one,” he added. Ganesh is also hurt about the fact that Farah referred him as an ass in one of her interviews. “Farah said Kis gadhe ne kaha.. I would say that I am proud to be a donkey. I am also very hardworking and I pick up my own load unlike her who depends upon the assistants. I don’t make my assistants work and take all the credit. In that case Farah has no business to go on stage and accept awards,” asserted Ganesh.

RA.One’s Chammak Challo is choreographed by Ganesh.

The war of words between Farah Khan and Ganesh Hegde

Lot has been written about the choreographer Ganesh Hegde and choreographer turned director Farah Khan's war of words few months back. The war seems to have died down but Ganesh Hegde is still nursing the wound, particularly the scathing attack of Farah's sharp words.

For the uninitiated, the entire trigger point was the 'big news' about Ganesh 'replacing' Farah for choreographing songs in RaOne - Shah Rukh Khan's magnum opus which is to be released soon. Though the badshah earlier swore by Farah, their strained personal relationship during last couple of years meant that professionally too they had to distance themselves. On her part though Farah has maintained that she was never doing RaOne in the first place as she has moved to bigger things in life that is direction. Another dig that Ganesh had made on Farah was about her being just a token choreographer as now her assistants teach all the dance steps to the actors while she takes the back seat.

Dance Mania Album Launched - ‘Let’s Party’ Album Launch Party

Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Hegde held a party to celebrate the launch of his latest album Let’s Party.

The event took place in Mumbai on Monday 29th August and stars such as Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan turned up to show support for the choreographer, who has choreographed popular numbers such as ‘Main Hoon Don’ from Don, and more recently ‘Chamak Challo’ from the upcoming movie Ra.One.

Ganesh Says,"Fan support will help in making pop music and pop singers survive. Pop cannot make money, but its demand will keep the art alive," enthuses Ganesh. "Pop music is dying in India, only playback singing and Bollywood sells. In the West, they have Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Beyonc? and Lady Gaga. Here, we have so much talent but nobody wants to promote it. I want people to realise that pop is also as big as Bollywood and perhaps better in terms of videos and dance," he states.

New Album "Let's Party" released featuring Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu & Priyanka Chopra

SRK has been associated with Ganesh for a very long time. He has taken time out from his busy schedule to lend his support at the launch of the album, in spite of being tied up with his professional commitments. With his album 'Lets's Party', Ganesh Hegde hopes to revive the dying Indian pop industry.

Shah Rukh Khan and Ganesh Hegde go back a long way, apart from choreographing plenty of the star's songs and touring with him for shows, Ganesh has also sung the rap song ' Ek Sawaal Ka Sawaal Hai', for the third season of the Kaun Banega Crorepati show hosted by King Khan.

Says Ganesh, "I have been working with SRK for the past 15 years and he has been like an elder brother and mentor for me, whenever I wanted SRK, he has helped me and also adjusted his dates for the launch of my coming album. SRK was very enthusiastic with this music album and he also wants this album to be superhit."

He also adds saying,"It's taken me three years to prepare for this album, as I was involved in all aspects right from directing, producing, singing as well as acting in the music videos.I share a bond with these stars. They know that if I have asked them to be a part of something I'm doing, it will not be mediocre. Pop music is dying in India, only playback singing and Bollywood sells. In the West, they have Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Beyonc? and Lady Gaga. Here, we have so much talent but nobody wants to promote it. I want people to realise that pop is also as big as Bollywood and perhaps better in terms of videos and dance."

Supporting Ganesh in his endeavor says singer Daler Mehendi, "After so many years an album is coming out and soon my album is due to release too. I am looking forward to 'Lets Party' and Ganesh's effort to revive the dead pop industry. This album will definitely encourage everyone to come out with more albums. I personally love Ganesh's music, his choreography and larger than life music videos and wish him all the best in his effort to bring back the pop culture."

Says pop singer Raageshwari, "I'm always thrilled when a non-film musician releases an album. It's like a warrior winning a war single-handedly. It's time to support different genres of music and solo artistes for Music to truly burgeon. I'm elated to know of Ganesh's album 'Let's Party' with big videos and melodious songs release. I'm sure the journey must have been tough, so I hope the outcome is pure celebration. I hope this is a harbinger of great times to come for all non-film musicians. Golden Luck to Ganesh and everyone who has music in their Soul!"
