Replacement news creates a fight between Farah Khan & Ganesh Hegde!

Farah Khan and Ganesh Hegde

Bollywood is such a vast place of happenings that most of the time we don’t even come to know who replaces whom in a particular film. Things keep changing here every second and any person can get replaced. The fight of who replaced whom is very old and still people are struggling between it.

The latest of this replacement fight was seen between two choreographers, Ganesh Hegde and Farah Khan. Ganesh is heard of spitting the venom of allegations over Farah saying that she is maligning his image in town and is spreading baseless rumors about him.

First it was reported that Ganesh was thrown out of a dance based reality show and Farah was brought in as his replacement. Then we got the news that Ganesh got her out of the film, “Ra.One”.  All these stories have led to a big fight between the two.

Ganesh says, "I have not replaced anyone. To replace someone, one has to be of the same caliber. I don't need assistants to do the choreographing for me. SRK and I have always worked together for things that needed an edge. It's easy to give kindergarten steps to lead actors and get away with it, citing the limitations of the actor”.

Farah hasn’t come up with any statement from her end so we can expect the fight to become deadly coz she too won’t gulp it all so easily!

Ganesh Hegde: Farah Khan is NOT the top choreographer

Mr.G ( Ganesh Hegde )

Ganesh had accused Farah of spreading negative stories about him being thrown out of a dance reality show, and Farah too had retorted in the media recommending a psychiatrist to Ganesh.

Ganesh feels that Farah has been misusing the power of press as she has many friends in the media. “I just want to say that please don’t run down people who are working hard. You may have the power of media but don’t misuse it. The fact is that somebody who dances well can choreograph a good song as well. Whereas somebody who depends upon their assistants and merely knows how to place the camera and do direction, that person cannot call herself the number one choreographer in the industry,” says Ganesh.

“Even stalwarts like Saroj Khan, Kamal Master, P L Raj, Prabhudeva..have never called themselves as the number one choreographer. Just by getting awards one doesn’t become number one,” he added. Ganesh is also hurt about the fact that Farah referred him as an ass in one of her interviews. “Farah said Kis gadhe ne kaha.. I would say that I am proud to be a donkey. I am also very hardworking and I pick up my own load unlike her who depends upon the assistants. I don’t make my assistants work and take all the credit. In that case Farah has no business to go on stage and accept awards,” asserted Ganesh.

RA.One’s Chammak Challo is choreographed by Ganesh.

Ganesh Hegde's dance moves in IPL 4

Ganesh Hegde

Bollywood's famous choreographer Ganesh Hegde, who has been associated with the last three IPL seasons, will be seen once again on the IPL front. He will show his dance moves onstage at the inaugural show of the opening day.

He tells us, "In the last IPL season, I had choreographed for the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team. This season, I have been approached by the Pune Warriors IPL team to do the choreography for their theme song - "Sahara Pranam". And, I shall be performing on the opening day." What is more interesting is that the concept of cheerleaders in Pune Warrior IPL team has been recreated into an Indian form, and the cheer girls will be called 'Cheer Queens'. There will be three cheer queens on every podium and they will be performing traditional Indian dance forms with fusion of Bollywood latkas and jhatkas. It is indeed a very innovative idea and it is interesting to do something different for the first time." We agree with you, Ganesh.

Farah Khan has no business to accept award: Ganesh Hegde

The war of words between Farah Khan and Ganesh Hegde

Lot has been written about the choreographer Ganesh Hegde and choreographer turned director Farah Khan's war of words few months back. The war seems to have died down but Ganesh Hegde is still nursing the wound, particularly the scathing attack of Farah's sharp words.

For the uninitiated, the entire trigger point was the 'big news' about Ganesh 'replacing' Farah for choreographing songs in RaOne - Shah Rukh Khan's magnum opus which is to be released soon. Though the badshah earlier swore by Farah, their strained personal relationship during last couple of years meant that professionally too they had to distance themselves. On her part though Farah has maintained that she was never doing RaOne in the first place as she has moved to bigger things in life that is direction. Another dig that Ganesh had made on Farah was about her being just a token choreographer as now her assistants teach all the dance steps to the actors while she takes the back seat.

Ganesh Hedge praised openly by Shah Rukh Khan (SRK)

Mr.G (Ganesh Hegde)
SRK openly praised Mr.G (Ganesh Hegde) on one award show. See hoe much he praises him in the video...........

Ra.One music launch in Mumbai with Ganesh Hegde as a choreographer on Sept 14,2011

You know it's going to be a great evening when Shah Rukh Khan steps on the stage to entertain the janta. And this time he wasn't alone, the actor had hottie Kareena Kapoor for company.

The duo set the stage on fire with little help from Arjun Rampal and a bevy of telly beauties. Amidst much fanfare, King Khan and the team of Eros International's Ra.One released the music of the film. Karan Johar was present to support his friend. From the cast, we spotted Satish Shah catching up with Shahana Goswami and Dalip Tahil.

T Series' Bhushan Kumar was also present for the do. The musical evening also had some rocking performances by Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravjiani and Sukhwinder Singh among others, while Ragini Khanna and Vivaan Bhatena compered the show. Ganesh Hegde was seen talking to director Anubhav Sinha. The new jewellery line inspired by the symbol of Ra.One in the movie was also unveiled. The line comprises of pendants for men and women, necklaces, bracelets and mobile charms, each piece has the distinctive blue colour that's a part of SRK's outfit in the film. There are blue coloured faceted gemstones and cabochons in pav? setting, as well as blue textured and enamelled finishes, and an elegant box to house each beauty.

Sanjay Dutt at Aazaan music launch with Ganesh Hegde & Prashant Chadha

The music launch of Aazaan, directed by Prashant Chadha saw none other than Sanjay Dutt doing the honours.

Lead actor Sachiin Joshi seemed more than pleased to share the stage with Sanjay. Looking red haute and enjoying all the attention was the sexy Candice Boucher.

And since it was a music launch, how could it be without its share of gaana-bajaana! Salim and Sulaiman Merchant performed live for the guests, as did Kailash Kher and Benny Dayal, who got everyone tapping their feet with their peppy numbers. Ravi Kissen, Arya Babbar and Siddharth Kannan were spotted enjoying the music.

The glam quotient went notches higher with the entry of Sonal Sehgal, Sushama Reddy and sisters Gauhar and Nigaar Z Khan. Ganesh Hegde, Mohammad Morani, Aamir Ali, DJ Khushi, Dalip Tahil, Sapna Bhavnani, Shweta Pandit and Shibani Kashyap were some of the others who attended the do.

Konkanaa Bakshe makes her debut with Ganesh Hegde

A super-sexy car commercial, a peppy foot-tapping music video with Ganesh Hegde and a south love story.

There's a lot going on for Konkanaa Bakshe — this pretty young Bengali siren... She has set her eyes on Bollywood now. "I have been brushing up my acting skills under Barry John and have been learning Hindi and Urdu. I am currently shooting for South debut in Loveguru2."

Why is Shahrukh Khan dancing funnily in ‘Chammak Challo’?

Ever since I watched the video of RA.One’s Chammak Challo, the peppy number has got stuck in my head. It just refuses to let go of me. One, Vishal-Shekhar’s composition and international hip hop artist Akon’s vocals make it a fun listen and it is stimulating enough to make me get out of my chair and shake some booty. And there are four more versions to keep you hooked on! Second, watching the video of Chammak Challo is very entertaining. I was in splits watching Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor get jiggy. While the Kapoor babe grooving in the teeny-weeny choli and bright red saree, showing off her ‘no longer size zero’ figure makes men and women drool, Shahrukh seems a little funny turning knobs and prancing around in Kathakali steps. So I wondered what happened to the otherwise charismatic dancer!

Of course, when it comes to dancing, SRK is no Hrithik Roshan but he isn’t anything like Sunny Deol either. King Khan has always been a pleasure to watch even if he is just boogieing. But in Chammak Challo he looks comical. Fortunately, before I could dismiss it as a side-effect of his RA.One obsession, I figured it is SRK’s character at play. Yes, Shahrukh is supposed to be a robot (G.One) in the film’s plotline! Now this explains why the superstar’s current favourite choreographer, Ganesh Hegde gave those door knob moves, stiff turns and odd steps. After this revelation Challo continues to remain my top favourite. What about you?

Ganesh Hegde at BIG Green Ganesha Campaign

Ganesh Hegde was snapped while performing a Lord Ganesha aarti,
as he joined the ‘Ramky BIG Green Ganesha Campaign’ in Mumbai

Now, if you are wondering why we addressed Ganesh Hegde as a multitalented artist, he is a singer, performer, video director and a Bollywood choreographer as well!

Speaking about the style statement made by him, though we would have loved his funky hairstyle and casual jacket on any other day, we expected him to wear something ethnic and more Indian on the occasion of Ganesh visarjan!

Now, here is some info about the campaign; the ‘Ramky BIG Green Ganesha Campaign’ aims at heralding a new phase in environment protection by pleading with the people to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco- friendly way. It’s the biggest green Ganesha campaign in the country spanning thirteen cities and is in its 4th year of celebrations.

Ganesh Hegde lashes out at Farah Khan in Ra One

Mr.G on the sets of Ra One with SRK & Kareena Kapoor
Ganesh Hegde replaced Farah Khan in Shah Rukh Khan's RA.One. That was the story you heard earlier this month. Before this, rumours of Hegde being thrown out of a dance reality show on television made it to the headlines. Farah, of course, being the replacement judge on the show.

In fact Farah Khan is the only one who was the end replacement. Ganesh Hegde works for learning something & to show this world something new. He is not like Farah who enjoys commenting in the reality show , who herself cant dance due to her HEAVY WEIGHT category. Atleast Mr.G works for the betterment of Dance world. Farah is clearly jealous of Mr.G. If Farah is so proud of her dancing then she should prove it by dancing & not by commenting.

Farah & I go to same psychiatrist: Ganesh

Ganesh Hegde(Left)
& Farah Khan (Right)

The 'give and take' between Farah Khan and Ganesh Hegde is not over yet.

While Hedge accused Farah of spreading negative stories about him being shunted out of a dance reality show and her being the first choice for Ra.One, Farah too retorted in the media recommending a psychiatrist to Hegde. This has fuelled the controversy and Hegde is again fuming over her statement.

With an open sarcasm Hegde says, "Yes, I see the same doctor that Farah visits and even he feels that she talks too much. There are people who let their work talk and then there are people who let their talk work.

Honestly, when have you seen a Farah Khan dance, please tell me that someone has seen her dance, anybody? I have done some good work in the recent past and have never spoken to anyone about making it public. Have never blown my own trumpet in 20 years, so why will I now?"

Revealing about his role if he were, at all, to participate in the reality show, Hegde says, "I was supposed to groom the contestants on various dance styles, direct four music videos for Hrithik, and being a music maker myself, give my inputs for the dance music which is done by Pritam.

In fact, without signing any contract I have had two sittings on the music with Pritam and Hrithik, who I immensely respect. If Farah was equipped to play these many roles or if she is contributing to any of these, then she has indeed replaced me and if not, then she should just sit back and let her talks do all the hard work.

And just for the records, I have never been to the sets of the reality show so how can there be problems on the sets because of me?"

Finally speaking about Farah, Hegde says, "Earlier in the year she came out with an article calling herself the preferred choice to choreograph an act to be performed by a leading actress on an awards night. She said I got the lucky break just because of the event managers.

I chose to keep quiet. Farah came in two days before the reality show launch and immediately set out an article claiming she elbowed me out of the show. How can you elbow someone out when you are a last minute replacement yourself? Farah has just bought a house in the building where I stay and sometimes, she passes by in the lobby.

We have always exchanged pleasantries and then out of the blue going to press saying that I have an attitude problem clearly shows who needs a doctor here. Farah is a good director, I like her sense of humour, but flexing the PR muscles and resorting to such negative publicity is an act of bullying, which no self respecting person will take lying down."

Deadly Combo of Poreotics & Ganesh Hegde in "Lets Party" Album

Poreotics, also known as Poreotix, is an American all-male dance crew from Westminster, California. The crew was formed in 2007 by "Dumbo" Nguyen and specializes in popping, choreography and robotics, hence the name Po-reo-tics. On April 8, 2010, they were crowned the champions on the fifth season of America's Best Dance Crew.

Recently they were featured in the Indian Video with Ganesh Hegde made "Lets Party". The killer choreography of Ganesh Hegde & tutting of Poreotics made the video "WOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW"

Dance Mania Album Launched - ‘Let’s Party’ Album Launch Party

Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Hegde held a party to celebrate the launch of his latest album Let’s Party.

The event took place in Mumbai on Monday 29th August and stars such as Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan turned up to show support for the choreographer, who has choreographed popular numbers such as ‘Main Hoon Don’ from Don, and more recently ‘Chamak Challo’ from the upcoming movie Ra.One.

Ganesh Says,"Fan support will help in making pop music and pop singers survive. Pop cannot make money, but its demand will keep the art alive," enthuses Ganesh. "Pop music is dying in India, only playback singing and Bollywood sells. In the West, they have Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Beyonc? and Lady Gaga. Here, we have so much talent but nobody wants to promote it. I want people to realise that pop is also as big as Bollywood and perhaps better in terms of videos and dance," he states.

New Album "Let's Party" released featuring Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu & Priyanka Chopra

SRK has been associated with Ganesh for a very long time. He has taken time out from his busy schedule to lend his support at the launch of the album, in spite of being tied up with his professional commitments. With his album 'Lets's Party', Ganesh Hegde hopes to revive the dying Indian pop industry.

Shah Rukh Khan and Ganesh Hegde go back a long way, apart from choreographing plenty of the star's songs and touring with him for shows, Ganesh has also sung the rap song ' Ek Sawaal Ka Sawaal Hai', for the third season of the Kaun Banega Crorepati show hosted by King Khan.

Says Ganesh, "I have been working with SRK for the past 15 years and he has been like an elder brother and mentor for me, whenever I wanted SRK, he has helped me and also adjusted his dates for the launch of my coming album. SRK was very enthusiastic with this music album and he also wants this album to be superhit."

He also adds saying,"It's taken me three years to prepare for this album, as I was involved in all aspects right from directing, producing, singing as well as acting in the music videos.I share a bond with these stars. They know that if I have asked them to be a part of something I'm doing, it will not be mediocre. Pop music is dying in India, only playback singing and Bollywood sells. In the West, they have Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Beyonc? and Lady Gaga. Here, we have so much talent but nobody wants to promote it. I want people to realise that pop is also as big as Bollywood and perhaps better in terms of videos and dance."

Supporting Ganesh in his endeavor says singer Daler Mehendi, "After so many years an album is coming out and soon my album is due to release too. I am looking forward to 'Lets Party' and Ganesh's effort to revive the dead pop industry. This album will definitely encourage everyone to come out with more albums. I personally love Ganesh's music, his choreography and larger than life music videos and wish him all the best in his effort to bring back the pop culture."

Says pop singer Raageshwari, "I'm always thrilled when a non-film musician releases an album. It's like a warrior winning a war single-handedly. It's time to support different genres of music and solo artistes for Music to truly burgeon. I'm elated to know of Ganesh's album 'Let's Party' with big videos and melodious songs release. I'm sure the journey must have been tough, so I hope the outcome is pure celebration. I hope this is a harbinger of great times to come for all non-film musicians. Golden Luck to Ganesh and everyone who has music in their Soul!"

Interview of Ganesh Hegde

Ganesh Hegde

Pop star and musician Ganesh Hegde is best known for choreographing the song Babuji, his hit Main Deewana, and for sporting Dada shoes at every concert. The star spoke to us about his latest album, choreographing and mixing the music for SRK’s act at Star Screen Awards, his acting debut and his decision to pay more attention to his music career.

You choreographed, designed the set and mixed the music for Shah Rukh Khan’s act at the Star Screen Awards. How was the experience of working with him for the second time?
You have to mix your own tracks to be able to understand and choreograph a successful event based on a novel concept. Many people have said that the mixed versions of the songs are much better than the originals. As for the show, it was stupendous. Shah Rukh wanted the steps to be challenging and that’s what I gave him. He is a great actor and brings a lot of energy to every production. He has achieved superstardom because he treats every show like it’s his first.

Are you set for another ‘Temptations’ tour?
Nothing has been decided yet. There are some discussions going on, but nothing concrete has come off it so far. It will be a completely new show with Shah Rukh.

How’s work on your album shaping up?
My album is ready and should come out in April. We’re waiting to shoot the videos, but nothing has happened so far. Hopefully, everything will be on time.

What is the concept of this album, and what will it be called?
We haven’t thought of a name yet. But it’s better than my previous album. I’m sure everyone will enjoy it. If you liked Main Deewana, you will love a lot of the songs on this album. It’s the outcome of two years of hard work, so I’m hoping for the best.

What kind of response have you received from the industry?
A lot of people disapprove of my decision to take on less work. They say if you do good work, you should do more of it. But according to me, I work well because I do less work. Moreover, I believe in quality and people have been happy with my work so far. People liked the Mehbooba number from Ram Gopal Verma’s Sholay, which I had composed and choreographed.

Has any other director asked you to compose and choreograph?
Currently, I am putting all my energy into my album. I am taking on very little work, so there’s nothing to speak of right now. Besides, it is not necessary to have a choreographer who composes. I choreographed a song in Saawariya, but the song was already great. I can’t impose myself on a director and say that I want to do both.

There is a lot of competition among choreographers today. How do you keep yourself ahead of the game?
I’ve been taking on very little work as a choreographer. I am paying more attention to my music. And yes, I do practise my dance steps and think of ideas. I think competition is a very good thing; it keeps me on my feet.

Do you plan on doing a Himesh by becoming an actor?
When I did Main Deewana, a lot of people offered me film roles. But I didn’t think I was ready. I don’t do things for fame; I want to do good work.

Release of G Album

With the release of "G" album in 2005 with the help of Bollywood Star Shah Rukh Khan; he reported to be the first Indian pop act to produce, write, direct and star in his debut music video (for his single Main Deewana).

This album was a great success & showed extreme talent of him in Hip Hop & Choreography.
